about Don Milner

Hi, I'm Don and I have been obsessed with painting and creating all of my life and see my role as a 'visual story teller' using images to tell stories in my own way as I celebrate the ‘Freedom of Expression’ that painting and drawing offers me. I’m inspired by my environment and the colourful characters who inhabit it. My internal impressions manifest and reflect themselves through my art.

 

I am primarily a Visual Communicator using images to tell stories in my own way as I celebrate the ‘Freedom of Expression’ art offers me. Inspired by my environment and the colourful characters who inhabit it, my internal impressions manifest and reflect themselves through creations in many subjects and genres, predominately Portraiture, Seascapes, Landscapes, and Still Life. I believe every artist needs to discover unique ways of expressing themselves by developing their own individual approach and visions using composition, mark making, colour and form to create mood whilst leaving the mark of the artist in the paint itself. Also learn from your favourite master artists as their influences can flavour and enrich your creative approach giving you new ways of seeing and creating, but you will still make it your own by doing.
